Lee Roy Selmon's life includes football scholarship, family service and involvement in the community. First of all Selmon was raised with Lucious Semon and his wife Jessie, on the farm close to Eufala in Oklahoma as the youngest of their nine children. Two, football. He is among the three brothers that were players for Oklahoma. Three of them made All-America. In 1973, Lee Roy and Lucious Jr. Dewey were the starters for one year. Lee Roy won the Outland and Lombardi Awards as the nation's top lineman. Lee Roy won two championships, and the score was 32-1-1 over his three seasons as Oklahoma's main man. Third scholarship he was named as a National Football Foundation Scholar-Athlete in 1975. Selmon received a diploma in education. Lee Roy was involved in volunteer work ten hour per week while he attended college. After college he settled in Tampa playing nine years for the Buccaneers were an all-pro three times before beginning a business career. He began his career in 1988. worked as an Account Relation Officer for First Florida Bank in Tampa. In 1982 the Junior Chamber of Commerce recognized him as one of Ten of America's top young males. Lee Roy, a 6-2-inch taller and weighing more than 256 pounds when he played in the college level as an athlete, was captain of his team during the season of 1975. In 1993, he joined the University of South Florida's athletic department as the Director of Athletics as an associate. The College Football Hall of Fame was named for the player on the 28th of October, 1998. GTE Academic All-America Hall of Fame in 1994. Pro Football Hall of Fame, in 1995. In 1989, the Oklahoma City Chapter of the National Football Foundation in 1989 awarded its Distinguished American Award to his parents Mr. and Mrs.. Lucious Selmon Sr. Henry Bellmon is the Oklahoma governor who made this presentation.
