Dolly Parton was born on the 19th of January 1946 on the 19th of January 1946 in Locust Ridge Tenn. She had a family of 12 children. Her vivid imagination allowed her to escape the savage realities of daily life. Before she learned to read and write she was singing her own tunes. At the age of 8 at the time, she purchased the first electric guitar. Then she began singing on the Knoxville Tenn Radio Station. She recorded her first album during the same year with Gold Band Records, a small, independent label. When she was still in highschool she became famous locally but longed to be on a bigger stage. When she graduated from high school in 1964, she swiftly relocated to Nashville. Her first charting hits for Monument Records included Dumb Blonde and Something Fishy both in 1967. Porter Wagoner had been looking for female performers for his show that was syndicated from the beginning. Parton took the offer when she was signed in 1967 by RCA Records in 1968 and was a part of The Grand Ole Opry in 1969. Her departure from the show came, however, in 1974 due to her solo albums, like Joshua Coat Of Many Colors and Jolene beat out their collaborative albums. Parton composed I Will Always love You in honor of Wagoner in the aftermath of their breakup. The song reached the top of the charts at.
