Anna Paquin

Anna Paquin, a Canadian-New Zealander actor. Born in Winnipeg and brought up in Wellington Paquin was able to make her acting debut in the role of Flora McGrath in the romantic drama film The Piano for which she won an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress at age 11 making her the second-youngest winner in Oscar history. Anna Paquin full name Anna Helene Paquin was born on July 24, 1982 Winnipeg Manitoba Canada. Canadian-born New Zealand actor who won the Academy Award as a youngster for Best Supporting Actress for playing the edgy and open daughter of Holly Hunter's lead character The Piano. The Piano. After she responded to an open call for auditions and was selected for the part, she performed as Flora McGrath, the daughter of a muted Scottish piano player who moved in New Zealand in mid-19th-century to marry. She was only nineteen and did not have any performing experience. When she was in her teens, the actress moved to America. Paquin performed the leading role in Fly Away Home in 1996 and had a minor part in Jane Eyre as just a young child. Paquin was Frankie Addams in a 1997 television film adaptation of Carson McCullers' novel The Member of the Wedding as well as a small role in the title role as Queen Spain in Steven Spielberg's Amistad (1997). In addition, she was a teenager for Hurlyburly (1998), She's All That (1998), A Walk on the Moon(1999) and Almost Famous (2000). The actress also played the role of groupie Polexia Aphrodisa.
